The data released by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information and Communication of Korea on October 14 showed that the country’s information and communication technology (ICT) exports in September increased by 36.3% year-on-year, reaching 22.36 billion US dollars, maintaining growth for 11 consecutive months and setting a second highest record in a single month in history. In terms of sectors, thanks to the AI technology trend driving server investment, semiconductor exports reached 13.63 billion US dollars, reaching a new historical high. Among them, the export of storage semiconductors increased by 60.7% year-on-year to 8.72 billion US dollars, and the export of system semiconductors increased by 5.2% to 4.37 billion US dollars. According to the analysis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the increasing demand for high-value-added products such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) has contributed to the significant increase in storage semiconductor exports, setting a new high for semiconductor exports.
