The UK Labour Party has elected a new deputy leader.

Jin10 data reported on October 25th that the results of the UK Labour Party deputy leader election were announced on the 25th, with former House of Commons leader Lucy Powell being elected. Former Labour Party deputy leader Angela Rayner resigned last month due to a tax evasion scandal, triggering the deputy leader election mechanism. The voting results released by the Labour Party on the 25th showed that Powell defeated her opponent, Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, to become the deputy leader. After the Labour Party wins the general election in July 2024, Powell will serve as the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Leader of the House of Commons, a position she left after a cabinet reshuffle in September this year.
