Data Gold Ten, October 14th, South Korea’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Information and Communication released data showing that in September this year, South Korea’s information and communication technology (ICT) exports increased by 36.3% year-on-year to US$22.36 billion, maintaining growth for 11 consecutive months and setting a second-highest record in history. In terms of fields, benefiting from the AI technology wave driving server investment, semiconductor exports reached US$13.63 billion, hitting a new historical high. Among them, the export of storage semiconductors increased by 60.7% year-on-year to US$8.72 billion, and system semiconductors increased by 5.2% to US$4.37 billion. According to the analysis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the increasing demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and other high-value-added products has contributed to the significant increase in the export of storage semiconductors, setting a new high for semiconductor exports.
