Aster caused a storm on social media after being "shilled" by CZ.

Only a few hours after being shared by Changpeng Zhao (CZ) – the founder of Binance – on his personal X account, the Aster project quickly became the focus of attention from the crypto community. This is a rare move as CZ has almost never directly promoted any project other than Bitcoin or BNB before.

Aster is a decentralized derivatives exchange (Perp DEX) that has just launched its own token on the BNB Chain. Observers see this as the “Hyperliquid version on the BNB Chain”, thereby showcasing the direct competition ambitions of BNB and CZ with the strong rise of Hyperliquid in recent times.

Notably, Aster had previously received an investment from YZi Labs – a fund led by CZ himself, although the value has not been disclosed. CZ had expressed a desire to invest in a Perp DEX “without exposing the order book” to limit the situation of being hunted for orders, and the name Aster has been suggested by the community in the comments since June.

According to data from Kaito, Aster is currently the hottest keyword in the pre-TGE project group on X, with a mindshare rate reaching 13.6% just half a day after being mentioned by CZ.
