The results of a recently published multinational joint opinion poll have attracted widespread attention, revealing significant changes in the current political landscape of the United States. The survey data indicates that the approval rating of the incumbent President Trump has fallen to its lowest point during his term, raising questions about his governance ability.

The survey shows that only 39% of the American public approve of Trump's presidential performance, while the number of people who oppose him reaches 58%, resulting in a net approval rating of minus 19%. This data not only sets a new low for Trump's second term but also reflects the gradual loss of public confidence in his leadership.

It is worth noting that recent protests with the slogan "No King" have garnered a considerable level of public support. Survey results show that nearly half (49%) of respondents expressed support for this protest, while only 33% opposed it. However, the actual participation rate in the protests is relatively low, at only 8%, reflecting that while the public has dissatisfaction, their enthusiasm for participating in political actions still needs to be improved.

The survey also revealed the trust levels of the American public in various institutions. The data shows that the military, small businesses, and the police are still among the institutions that the public trusts the most, with trust levels of 53%, 52%, and 41% respectively. In contrast, the trust level in Congress is only 8%, making it the least trusted institution, highlighting the public's general disappointment in legislative bodies.

This survey conducted jointly by The Economist and YouGov took place from October 24 to 27, 2025, with a total of 1,623 American adults participating. The margin of error for the survey results is approximately ±3.5%, which holds a high reference value.

Overall, this poll report not only reflects the severe challenges faced by the Trump administration but also reveals the current political atmosphere and public sentiment in American society. As the 2026 midterm elections approach, these data will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the formulation of political strategies by all parties.
