The U.S. Senate has again voted down the bill, and the government shutdown may continue.
On October 29, according to reports from Block Rhythm, on October 28 local time, the U.S. Senate once again failed to pass a procedural vote with a result of 54 votes to 45, advancing the “2025 Fiscal Year Continuing Appropriations and Extension Act,” which aims to end the government shutdown. This bill was passed by the House of Representatives and seeks to temporarily restore government operations at current funding levels, requiring 60 votes to advance in the Senate.
This is the 13th vote on the bill, and it still has not reached the required threshold, meaning the U.S. government shutdown will continue.
