Putin: The United States is making positive efforts to end the conflict and promote nuclear arms control protocol.

On August 14, Jin10 reported that Russian President Putin met with senior Russian officials on Thursday before his summit with U.S. President Trump, stating that the U.S. is taking action to halt the war in Ukraine. Before heading to Alaska, Putin chaired a meeting with members of the negotiation team who will accompany him to the summit, including Foreign Minister Lavrov, during which he briefed them on the “progress of the Ukraine crisis negotiation process.” Putin said, “In my view, the current U.S. government is making quite positive and sincere efforts to stop hostilities, cease the crisis, and reach an agreement that meets the interests of all parties involved in the conflict.” Putin indicated that if the two countries reach an agreement in the field of nuclear arms control, it would strengthen peace between Russia and the U.S. as well as in the broader world.
